Identified Target Population:
Agency qualified, low income families/individuals in Maricopa County
(9,226 sq. miles). Bridging serves clients who are transitioning from
temporary housing to permanent housing, and those in agency-sponsored
case management programs.
On behalf of their clients, our partnering agencies address issues
of:
A) Previously Homeless: People who previously lacked a regular nighttime
residence, or whose primary residence was designed for temporary
accommodations. This category includes refugees.
B) Battered Women, Men and Children: Victims of domestic violence who
are moving into their own housing from a shelter or abusive home.
C) Chronic Life Threatening Disease: A person in need of service as a
result of the effects of a chronic life threatening disease.
D) Employment and/or Job Training: Enrollment in a program offered by a
government agency, the Department of Economic Security, or the
sponsoring agency.
E) Learning Disabilities & Life Skills: Ranging from basic life skills
training, to SMI (Severe Mental Illness), to those who need daily
supervision and/or medication.
Demographics:
Bridging has provided furniture to 310 families. This figure represents
a total of over 1,100 people, including over 700 children.
